Objective
To secure a position in the cloud industry, utilising my transferrable skills and acquired technical skills. Over the past year it has been my personal goal to leverage a high understanding of the AWS cloud and Technical fundamentals.
About me
First and foremost I am a mother of 3 young children. They are my pride and joy and every decision I make now has them on the forefront of my mind. This newfound career change has greatly been impacted by them in a positive way. I admire a career which is innovative, flexible and a place where I feel immense passion to learn. After all we are kept away from our children whilst working so it has to be worth it every step of the way.
I have spent 13 years building my career as an Optometrist to senior level. My career so far has led me to excel in: communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, which are elementary for a role in the Cloud Computing. I am adaptable to changing demographics and stakeholders, I am progressive minded, empathetic and in tune with new developments in my current and new field.
After excelling in my current career, I felt I needed and new challenge, this is where I started my new journey and found a new passion In Cloud Computing. During my extended maternity break, I joined an AWS Academy program to study AWS.
During the AWS Academy program, I attended regular remote classes and studied sometimes for hours daily. I also took part in hands on projects and worked alongside and lead teams of students with varied abilities to successfully architect and build projects for make-shift costumers. It was challenging but also felt exhilarating learning a completely new concept and being part of this newfound wonderful journey. I am confident this will be my new chosen career.
I studied and obtained my 'AWS Cloud Practitioner' and 'AWS Solutions Architect associate' Certificate and am now confident in Architecture and troubleshooting to design fault tolerant infrastructure based on AWS well-Architected framework. I have experience with CI/CD and an understanding of Terraform and Linux.
I and have spent the past year and half obtaining my: AWS Certificates, gaining hands on experience of the AWS cloud and understanding a variety of technology fundamentals, for example: Python, terraform and the importance of sustainability.
I am passionate and look forward to landing my first job role in a career in Cloud Computing.

Firdaus Home Scents
Between 2019-2021 whilst working part time and caring for my children I opened up a personal business at home. Firdaus Home Scents.
I created home scents such as room sprays and reed diffusers, packaged and advertised them to potential customers and grew my business from my kitchen. By year 2 I had broke even but due to family commitments I had to close the business.
I solely set up a small business on instagram, took care of the social media and marketing and assisted with the accounts.
